Film Pipeline

Discovering and Developing the Next Generation of Filmmakers

Launched in 2018, Film Pipeline has its sights set on discovering groundbreaking directors, produced shorts, and unproduced scripts with the potential for development, financing, and industry circulation. Unlike traditional festivals, Film Pipeline offers a long-term, hands-on approach to support filmmakers beyond a single contest cycle, guiding them toward sustainable careers in film and television.

Contests & Career Development

Through its Short Script and Short Film contests, Film Pipeline provides filmmakers with direct industry access, development support, and financing opportunities. Winners and finalists receive:

  • $5,000 in cash prizes
  • One-on-one collaboration with Pipeline executives to refine and advance their projects
  • Industry circulation to managers, producers, and executives seeking fresh talent
  • Development and financing consideration for future projects
  • Exclusive access to Pipeline Artists’ Symposium events

All genres are accepted, from experimental narratives to genre-defining storytelling. Whether a filmmaker has a proof-of-concept for a feature, a short film seeking wider distribution, or a script in need of development, Film Pipeline serves as an essential platform to elevate filmmakers and their potential within the industry.

A Track Record of Industry Impact

With over 2,000 short film submissions annually, Film Pipeline is part of Pipeline Media Group, which has facilitated over $8 million in script sales and helped numerous writers and directors secure representation and production deals. Notable success stories include:
